Monday 11th May 

Go through the PowerPoint with your child to learn about a Firefighter 

Tuesday 12th May 

Read the story about a Firefighter with your child - talk to your child about where the words are, where you start reading, and we always read from left to right. 

Now ask you child some questions for understanding: 


What is a firefighter and what do they do? 
Where were the children going on a trip? 
What was the name of the firefighter? 
What did Amari get to use? 
What special equipment do firefighters need? 
What happened at the end of the story? 

Wednesday 13th May

Let you child cut out these pictures of the story and see if they can put them in the correct order, encourage your child to tell you what is happening in each picture.

Sequencing the story

Thursday 14th May 

Your child can have a go at mark making/drawing all you know about the story Charlie the Firefighter. If they can they can have a go at sounding out some of the words of your drawings and writing some sounds next to your pictures.
