You will be using the link below from Oak National Academy where the teacher explains the concept through an online lesson. After the lesson you can do practical activities with your child at home.

Learning aim: Exploring counting in pairs
The emphasis of this lesson is that your child will explore how they can group in twos: explain that this is called a pair. Before beginning the lesson let your child explore some items around the house which come in pairs. For example scissors, glasses, trousers, socks etc.
During the lesson they can then decide how many pairs of socks different animals need, counting the socks individually and in pairs. They finish the lesson by learning how to count in twos. Please follow the link below for the lesson.

Play the game: Max the Monkey’s Fruit Sharing Activity
Explain to your child that Max the Monkey has some has some fruit that he would like to share fairly between his friends. They can explore sharing different numbers of oranges, strawberries, apples and bananas between three little monkeys – Max, Marcia and Marcel.
