Monday 29th June
This week your child will be working on solving some number problems and reasoning. Reasoning is when your child explains their thinking behind how they worked out their mathematical answers.
Below are some number tracks. Your child can have a go at finding the missing numbers on these number tracks. Please use the tracks with the numbers that are most suited to your child depending on what numbers they are learning at the moment - 1-10/1-20. Each track is different and may start with any number. Your child may have to count onwards or backwards to find the missing numbers. If counting backwards is too challenging for your child just continue with the ones your child can do. If your child needs the number lines to help them they can use them. You can ask your child some questions as they try to find the missing numbers to check their reasoning - How can we work out what the missing numbers are? What number do you think is missing there? How do you know? How did you work it out? Are you sure that number goes there? Is there another way we could work it out?
Tuesday 30th June
For Tuesday and Wednesday both the activities will be about counting and reasoning.
Go through the counting power points with your child and see if they can count and answer the questions and also explain their reasoning behind how they worked out their answers.
Wednesday 1st July
Thursday 2nd July
For Thursday and Friday both the activities will be about sharing amounts and reasoning.
Go through the sharing power points with your child and see if they can share the amounts and answer the questions and also explain their reasoning behind how they worked out their answers.
