Lovely Summer's Day

We are currently getting ready for our Year 2 Music Assembly.

The children need to learn the words to our song, 'Lovely Summer's Day'.

Lovely Summer’s Day

Say ‘Hello’ to summer,

Wave goodbye to spring,

Take a look at what the season brings.

Chorus:

There’s so much that I could say,

On this lovely summer’s day.

 Smell the lovely roses,

Feel the beaming sun.

Listen to the blackbird sing its song.

Chorus:

There’s so much that I could say,

On this lovely summer’s day.

Bumble bees are busy,

Buzzing as they go,

Butterflies are flitting to and fro.

Chorus:

There’s so much that I could say,

On this lovely summer’s day.

 Skies are blue and silent,

Aeroplanes fly high,

Making chalky lines across the sky.

Chorus:

There’s so much that I could say,

On this lovely summer’s day.

 Say ‘Hello’ to summer,

Wave goodbye to spring,

Take a look at what the season brings.

Chorus x2:

There’s so much that I could say,

On this lovely summer’s day.

We have been working together to create our Class Charters which set out our Rights & Responsibilities and celebrate our different backgrounds.

Our Current Topic: China

This half term, we are learning all about China including where it is located on a World Map, famous attractions and Chinese culture. We had an amazing China Celebration Day on Friday 8th February where we did lots of different Chinese-themed activities and crafts. We tasted noodles with different sauces, learnt how to write our name in Mandarin, made chinese lanterns and paper dragons and even learnt some Tai Chi! See our 'Trips and Events' sections for photos of our day!

On Friday 19th October, we had an informative visit from the Local Fire Brigade to talk to us about Fire Safety and offer a demonstration of a fire engine!
