Welcome to Year 5!
We hope you've had a good half term!
This term, we have lots of exciting things planned for the children including: Dreamworks Shrek's Adventures and Gordon Brown Residential Trip!
In English, we'll be studying 'Clockwork' by Phillip Pullman and learning how to create suspense through our writing.
In Maths, we'll be continuing to develop our understanding of all things arithmetic and practising our reasoning & problem solving.
In Science, we'll be looking at 'Gases Around Us' to further our knowledge of the importance of Air and other gases.
In Creative Curriculum, we'll be developing our map skills by looking at: compasses, map symbols, types of maps (including ordinance survey maps).

Year 5 Trip to Gordon Brown 2017
Day 1: Year 5 have arrived and settled in well already. They have done some exciting orienteering and met the local animals.
Day 2: Children have been testing out and developing their archery skills.
The children are doing you all proud, they're all showing great team work and embracing all the activities. Night walk next... I wonder what we will see.
Day 3: Children have had a wonderful nights sleep after looking for bears on the night walk! They will have a village study this morning and will attempt the climbing wall in the afternoon.
Day 4: Another pleasant night, all children are well. Today year 5 have built fires and cooked their own popcorn. Then afterwards they will be completing a river study.
Day 5: The children are ready for shelter building before they make their way home after lunch. We anticipate arriving back at school before 3:20 pm. See you soon!!
