Meet our Board of Governors
Shekira Malcolm - Co-opted Governor (Chair)
Rawa Hussain - Co-opted Governor
Rawa is currently a Trainee Solicitor, due to qualify at the end of this year. Previously, she has been working as a Paralegal at an in-house legal team in a large branded organisation for many years. Rawa is also a certified mediator and loves to help the community where she can. She is hoping to specialise in special needs mediation due to her passion for helping parents in this space. Rawa has a love for the school that started 24 years ago when her niece first joined. All 7 of her nieces and nephews attended the school with the long standing family relationship ending with Rawa’s two children. Rawa believes in Uxendon and the values it holds, in particular, the close relationship between the school and the parents which is key and testament to the school's success.
Pallavi Shah - Co-opted Governor
I have been associated with Uxendon Manor as a parent since 2021, when my son joined the school in Reception. I joined the Governing Body in 2022 as an Associate Governor. Having worked in the education sector for 17 years, I have acquired broad range of transferrable skills and knowledge that can help with the Governance of the school.
I am a 'Certified Chartered Accountant' by profession and currently work for an Academy School in London. Along with my professional qualification, I have also completed 'Certificate of School Business Management' programme that was run by National College of School Leadership. I am passionate about the importance of giving children a broad education that prepares them for life and am hopeful that in my role as a Governor I can help the school achieve this.
Jaya Gajparia - Parent Governor
Dr Jaya Gajparia is a transdisciplinary social scientist with expertise in sociology, gender studies, education for sustainable development and human rights. She believes education is the pathway to create social change, challenge economic and social barriers and create opportunities for everyone. Currently, she is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at London South Bank University and The New School Parsons in Paris, France.
Rajni Bhudiya - Parent Governor
I am incredibly honoured and excited to be part of the governing board at Uxendon Manor Primary. When I joined the governing board, my children had only been in the school for 5 months, however they and I were immediately drawn to the school's culture and experienced first hand the school's strong community like environment. This is a huge testament to Uxendon Manor's ability to engage with parents and promote the school values and reputation, but more so the incredible staff working here showing day in day out why the school continues to excel.
When speaking with teachers and staff at the school, parents are reassured this is the best place for their child's academic and personal development. The school's values of respect, hard work and taking the right action are evident across all year groups. I have been inspired by the school's ambition over recent years to want it to continue to succeed and by undertaking the role of a parent governor, I strongly believe I can use my skills and experience to help make a positive contribution.
