P.E. Curriculum

P.E. at School

Pupils have one hour and 40 minutes of PE timetabled per week through which we develop the physical literacy skills as set out in the National Curriculum. Children in Year 4 and 5 have the opportunity to participate in weekly swimming lessons and we aim for all pupils leaving the school to be able to swim at least 25 metres.

Key sporting skills such as sportsmanship are taught via a wide range of sports including football, netball, basketball and badminton, as well as athletics. All pupils have the opportunity to take part in a range of tournaments and sports festivals, both within school and with other schools. You can stay updated on what we are getting up to by having a look at our 'Competitions and Events' PE page.

Uxendon achieved the Silver School Games Mark for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport. The Games Mark is awarded through the Your School Games which is a key part of the Government’s programme to secure a sporting legacy from London 2012. This award provides a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.
