YAP Events & Photos 2025/2026

On Wednesday 24th September 2026, six children from Year 5 embarked on a journey to become the:

Young Ambassadors for Peace.

At the Brahma Kumaris, University in Willesden – the children (alongside others from 7 different schools) all engaged in activities to learn about this special leadership role and reflected upon what PEACE actually means to them.

The children were presented with their YAP badges as well as their job descriptions and other important documents.

Meet the YAPs below...

Event 1: Peace Education Day - 'Peace Within the Self'

Wednesday 24th September 2025

At this first event the children learnt about the inner qualities required to develop peace within and some techniques to create inner peace.

Event 2: Peace Conference - 'Peace with Others and Resolving Conflict'

Wednesday 12th November 2025

At this event the children learnt techniques for mediation and resolving conflict and how to develop self-respect and build inner strength. They also discovered themes that are common across all major religions as they explored the quote: 'We have far more in common, than that which divides us.' This event was scheduled within the national Anti-Bullying Week for schools, and helped the children to develop strategies to create peace within their school community.

Event 3: Peace Picnic - 'Peace with Nature and the Environment'

Wednesday 22nd April 2026

At this event the children spent the day in outside in Oxford. They explored how to respect the natural world and build connections with nature and the environment. The children were able to take part in a fun-filled 'Nature Quest' where they explored the five elements (Ether, Earth, Air, Water & Fire) and how these elements helped them to connect to nature. The children also heard from the other schools within the programme and they shared ideas about the progress they have made within their communities.

Event 4: House of Lords - 'Peace Dialogue: Living Peace in Action'

Monday 18th May 2026

For this prestigious event, the children were invited to take part in a peace dialogue in Parliament with different leaders and invited guests. This was an opportunity for them to speak about the YAP Peace Education as well as their own personal journey on the YAP Programme. One of our YAPs gave a presentation speech about 'Peace within the Self' - well done to her!
